People & Projects

Get involved in the nation’s biggest, boldest long term environmental venture! Individuals, businesses, local community groups, landowners - your participation can make a real and lasting difference!

There are many opportunities to take an active role in the Forest’s creation. These range from volunteering for practical conservation work, community tree planting projects, maintenance of local woods and marking your place in the Forest with a distinctive arts or heritage feature. Whatever your interest, you can contribute your expertise and energy. Grants are available to support many community activities.

Education

Kids 'ponding'

The environmental education programmes in the Forest are very successful, with 37,000 children and their teachers last year learning about bugs and bats, tracks and trails and habitats. Planting a tree is a great way to connect with nature and the very different time scale that trees inhabit, as opposed to our hectic lives

Volunteering

One of the most fantastic things about The National Forest is that people can actually 'get involved' in its creation. This can be through planting a tree, community projects or even becoming a conservation volunteer.
